The Klansmen
History
Rockabilly studio-project. The line-up was Ian Stuart on vocals and Jon Burnley on drums. Listed as Jeb Stuart on vocals, Bones on guitar, Jed Clampett (Graham Grant) on bass and J.B. Forrest on drums.
The first LP, ‘Fetch The Rope’, included ‘Bones’ on guitar and Graham Grant on bass both from psychobilly band Demented Are Go. The second LP, ‘Rebel With A Cause’, included members of psychobilly band The Krewmen and the third LP, ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Patriots’, was recorded with a local rock band.
The original idea for The Klansmen project arose through Ian Stuart and Paul Griffiths, a Skrewriver Security member who was also a rockabilly. He sold Demented Are Go the keys to a squat next door to his own council flat in Hackney, East London. Graham Grant from the band was an old friend of Paul Griffiths and he introduced them to Ian Stuart. Demented Are Go now deny any involvement with the project.
