The Final Sound
History
Southampton based futurist/post-Industrial band, formed in January ’83, out of the ashes of futurist band The Grey Wolves. The original line-up was Joanne Keal vocals, Steve X on guitar, backing tapes and keyboards and James Cross on bass. In March ’83 Steve Pearson, who had previously been in The Grey Wolves, joined on drums. Keal left the band in August ’83, Steve X replaced her, whilst remaining on guitar and keyboard. Tony Mitchell, ex-Visual Displays, joined in December ’83. At around the same time Pearson left. Amanda Burnay joined as vocalist in January ’84. In December ’84 both Burnay and Cross left. In February ’85 Elizabeth Baker joined as vocalist but left shortly after in July ’85
