Control
History
A Crawley town, England based band who started in early 2008. Playing what the band calls Hooligan Rock & Roll. With their influences being deeply rooted in Punk and Oi! alongside Rock N Roll the band have refused to be pigeon-holed by faceless phoney fashion jumping poseurs. The line up consists of Iain, Baz, Shifty, Jeff, Terry, and Steve.
Their lyrics focus on everyday experiences and frustrations, delivered with a hard‑hitting, energetic style marked by attitude and sharp social commentary. This combination became central to their identity and the foundation of the Hooligan Rock & Roll label they embraced.
The group has often expressed the view that modern life increasingly resembles a police state, with many aspects of daily living subject to monitoring and control. This perspective inspired their name and provides ongoing material for their songwriting. They frequently direct their criticism toward the media, self‑interested individuals, short‑sighted decision‑makers, money‑driven institutions, and politicians—figures they credit, somewhat sarcastically, for fueling their creative inspiration.
