Soccer Hoolys

Soccer Hoolys

History

The Soccer Hoolys were an Oi! / hooligan rock band from Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England. Their lineup was Mickey “The Guvnor” Fleck on guitar and vocals with Steve “Southall Menace” / “Bournemouth Steve” on bass and production.

There are no known photos of the band and it is claimed they were signed by EMI in 1981, but supposedly dropped due to stigma around the Southall incident.

The bands sound has been described as harsh, uncompromising Oi!, with rough riffs and a spoken‑word‑style vocals reminiscent of Joe Strummer.
