Infa-Riot
History
Formed in late 1979 in a North London neighborhood by brothers Lee and Floyd Wilson, together with guitarist Barry Damery and drummer Mark Reynolds, Infa‑Riot burst onto the emerging punk/Oi! scene thanks to a glowing article in Sounds magazine.
By 1981, Infa‑Riot saw two of their tracks included on the now‑legendary compilation Strength Thru Oi!, which served as a defining introduction to a movement gaining strength by the day. The album featured two of their signature songs, “Riot, Riot!” and “We Outnumber You”—raw, uncompromising examples of the band’s sound: pure, hard punk stripped of frills, as real and gritty as a pub brawl or hours spent waiting in the unemployment line.
Their growing reputation led them to sign that same year with Secret Records, one of the most important labels in the history of street punk. The label’s roster included heavyweights such as The 4‑Skins, Chron Gen, The Business (with Micky Fitz), and The Exploited.
